the one that tells you heavy rains must be enjoyed with chai and kanda bhaji

The book explores the true story and life of 3 immigrants who left home - India - to come to the land of opportunities and years later tried to figure out where home really is.
It is about that all too familiar voice in the head of almost every immigrant - the one that makes you nostalgic when you hear an old hindi tune, the one that reminds you every year how far away you are when Diwali comes along, the one that tells you heavy rains must be enjoyed with chai and kanda bhaji, the one that keeps you awake at night thinking about family, the one that keeps asking is there is a way that leads you back to where you came from?
If that tiny little voice does exist somewhere inside of you this book is going to be a wonderful, poignant read for you. The authors have done a great job penning down the thoughts and emotional conflicts of an entire generation of immigrants. Definitely worth a read.

A very good read for anyone toying with the idea of r2i.....

I never thought I would leave India. But then I did and now I long to go back. But with time the confusions, questions have just exploded. This book puts everything I ever thought of in my mind into words. Couln't have done a better job of it myself.....Kudos to all three authors for putting this together.....

Must read for R2i wannabes (and others too)

R2i is a wonderful book that takes the reader through the journey of 3 US immigrants that came to the United States in search of opportunities, settled down, thrived and then began to question where home really is. I loved this book from the get go - mostly for 2 reasons:- the first being I could relate to the experiences of the authors right from the anxiety of applying to American Universities, waiting for acceptances, coming to the US all by yourself and experiencing the culture here. The challenges they face and how they are able to adapt to this new world and create a space for themselves. The second reason is the writing style of the authors. The three authors narrate their perspectives almost in a unique blog like format and although these perspectives differ, I found myself relating to something in each of them. I have been diligently following Parth Pandya’s blog and enthralled by his writing style. He does not fail to impress me in this book. All in all, I would highly recommend this book as a casual fun read!
