About the Author
Noel James, Professor of Geology at Queen’s University, Canada, has, for over 40 years focused his research on carbonate sediments and rocks that range from the modern seafloor to the Archean, studying their origin via extensive marine and terrestrial fieldwork, petrography, and geochemistry.�� He has taught numerous courses on oceanography, carbonate sedimentology, petroleum geology and the evolution of North America to undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals as well as editing or authoring nine scientific books.� He has been honoured many times by learned societies, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and a Member of the Order of Canada.

Brian Jones, Distinguished University Professor (Geology) at the University of Alberta, Canada, has, for over 40 years taught numerous courses at the introductory and advanced level on carbonate sedimentology and diagenesis.� His research on carbonates has concentrated on the deposition and diagenesis of modern and Cenozoic deposits in the Caribbean, surface and subsurface Paleozoic rocks in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, many of which are prolific hydrocarbon reservoirs, and spring deposits worldwide. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and the first Middleton Medalist of the Geological Association of Canada.

Another wonderful Assassin's Creed artbook

I like Assassin's Creed artbooks because they usually feature beautiful landscape artworks of historical places from the past. In Unity, it's in Paris during the French Revolution. Presentation style is similar to the earlier artbooks with a good mixture of character designs and environment art.

The costume designs for all the characters are beautiful and detailed. I've always wondered how people in those times managed with so many layers of clothing and how heavy they weigh with all those accessories and weapons hanging all around. Almost all the characters are male except Elise De La Serre.

The other artworks are all on the landscapes, interiors and key scenes. It's really cool to see how the artists interpret old Paris. There are the rooftops of Paris with their familiar chimneys. exquisite monuments such as the Conciergerie, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower and other landmarks and less savoury places. There are some really nice textures going on that show the nitty-grittiness of the places. I really enjoy looking at the architecture design of buildings at that time.

The artworks are generally beautiful although some pieces are quite rough, thankfully in minority. Composition for most of the environment art are fantastic, and really captures the scenes well.

The book a 192-page hardcover. There's also a 500-copies limited slipcase edition that comes with two signed art prints from Ludovic Ribardi�re and Gilles Beloeil. For the limited edition, you've to get it from publisher Titan Book's website

It's a great companion to the video game.

About the Author
Michael Nelson is the Fulmer Professor of Political Science at Rhodes College and a Senior Fellow of the Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia. His recent books include: The American Presidency: Origins and Development, 1776-2011, 6th Ed., The Presidency and the Political System, 9th Ed., and The Evolving Presidency: Landmark Documents, 1787-2010, 4th Ed, and Debating Reform: Conflicting Perspectives on How to Fix the American Political System, 2nd Ed. More than fifty of his articles have been reprinted in anthologies of political science, history, music, and English composition, including articles on subjects as varied as baseball, C. S. Lewis, and Frank Sinatra.

Excellent Analysis of Landmark Documents, and even obscure documents that have shaped the U.S Government

This book includes not only some of the most landmark documents that have formulated our government but also analysis that spans form a contemporary perspective to a historic one as well. I needed this book for a political course at Johns Hopkins University, and was impressed with how thoroughly the book discusses some of these documents, especially since some of these documents are obscure artifacts that many students/young adults probably don't know of. Regardless, this book is a great resource, but I gave it 4/5 stars because the documents aren't in chronological order- they're just haphazardly put together, the organization is just a little off for my taste.

Invaluable and Insightful!

Excellent book that broadens one's understanding of the growth of presidential power from the early days of the Republic to the present day. Before each document, Nelson offers historical background that is concise and easy to comprehend. With 55 total documents, this is definitely a purchase that will multiply the return.
